Are your certificates recognized for workplace compliance in Ontario?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Paragon Medical is a WSIB-approved training provider. Workplace first aid certificates issued by an approved provider satisfy Regulation 1101 and are valid for three years.

How many trained first aiders does my workplace need?

Accepted Answer

Under Regulation 1101, workplaces with 1–5 workers per shift need at least one person certified in Basic First Aid. Workplaces with 6 or more workers per shift need at least one certified in Intermediate First Aid. A trained first aider must be available on every shift.

What changed in the WSIB First Aid Program in 2026?

On June 22, 2026, certificate names were aligned with CSA Z1210:24 — Basic First Aid replaced Emergency First Aid, and Intermediate First Aid replaced Standard First Aid. Regulation 1101 and the compliance thresholds did not change. Certificates issued before the update remain valid until expiry.
